Mazzin (1372 m.) sits in the centre of the Fassa Valley and is surrounded by striking Dolomite conformations.
The commune of Mazzin includes the villages of Campestrin and Fontanazzo, small mountain villages which are joined up with the rest of the valley by pedestrian, cycling and cross-country skiing tracks, immersed in the most beautiful natural surroundings.
Throughout the winter tourists can make the most of the free shuttle-bus service which in a few minutes takes them to the Valley’s ski-lifts.
Historically, Mazzin’s territory is considered extremely important, since the remains of an ancient fortress were found on the Doss dei Pigui, on the orographic left hand side of the Avisio river, these include bronze household items, instruments of defence and jewels which are evidence of the lives of the Raetian people, ancient precursors of the Ladin language.
Mazzin’s guests should not miss the excursion along Val Udai or along Val di Dona to the Antermoia Lake, which is filled with legends and surrounded by Dolomite cliffs.
