Mazzin
Mazzin is the smallest municipality of the valley and it is composed by the neighbouring villages of Campestrin and Fontanazzo.
The name of the centre is closely related to the finds of important ruins of human settlements in the locality Doss dei Pigui. Here lie some traces of a fortification belonging to the ancient Reti. Mazzin also preserves the sole example of rustic manorhouse of the entire valley: Casa Battel enriched by its cuspidated tower and noticeable tempera paintings on the corners and all around the windows. Some frescos adorn the walls of the building.
Mazzin is a privileged starting point, (especially during summer periods) for many hikes to the near Dolomite mountains.
In winter, ski lovers have not to worry about a rapid transport: free ski-buses assure a rapid service during all the season to the ski lifts of the nearest villages.
